One of the rules for Darwin Awards is they have to be won before the subject reproduces. Otherwise they are only honorable mentions.

Cosplay girls have been getting groped and assaulted since the beginning of time but since the internet started up there's been a big wave of creeps. They bring their boyfriends with them now to protect them from creeps getting handsy but "cosplay does not equal consent" responded to a genuine problem.

In the early days of comic conventions and anime conventions. the atmosphere was more adult-oriented, and female cosplayers absolutely had to be vigilant about potential unwanted touching.
