Just checked /r/Twitter and indeed: Twitter won't let you search for #hashtags, or using a specific search term, or using "from:SomeAccount" anymore.
This is really shitty because for years many people have been using Twitter hashtags during acute emergencies. For example when there's a terrorist attack, people will use the hashtag of the city where the attack took place to keep up to date with reports on the scene and statements from LE.
What I find interesting about these Reddit threads in /r/Twitter is that they are a couple people who seem to have tried akready Mastodon and abandoned it because it was either "too overcomplicated", "It doesn't have what I'm looking for (games)", etc. Mastodon is too much of a RTFM brocoder platform for normies - or young people who are just learning about the internet - to get into.
