A photo showing a 10-year-old Canadian drag queen posing next to a half-naked adult performer sparked outrage online. But the boy’s mother thinks it’s all OK and the child is not overtly sexualized.

The world of drag queens – male performers taking on exaggeratedly female personas and taking to the stage – may seem like an inappropriate place for minors. After all, sexuality plays a major part in a drag performance, and the common wisdom is that sexualizing young children for entertainment is a taboo. Yet there are child drag queens. One of them – Nemis Quinn Mélançon-Golden – received some unwanted attention online after a photo of him posing in a black dress and fishnet tights next to an adult drag queen was posted online.

The adult co-star, best known by the stage name Violet Chachki, wears stilettos and a patch of fabric to cover the genitals, and that’s it. And, as expected, some people on social media were outraged by the image.

The picture was taken by photographer and writer Jonathan Turton while working on an article for the London-based magazine Huck, which writes about different subcultures. It didn’t make it into the final story, but there are other photos.

The cover picture shows Mélançon-Golden, who goes by the stage name Queen Lactatia, wearing the same outfit and a pink wig with his legs spread wide and sitting on a sofa next to his mother.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but either clothes mean something and therefore transgenderism is valid, or clothes don't mean anything and this kid drag stuff is innocent; but it can't be both.
Furthermore. I've done research on this drag shit, I went so far as to watch a season of that RuPaul show because I don't like criticizing things without knowing about them, and from what I've observed drag culture is just sexual deviancy, poop jokes, and drugs/substance abuse issues.

never mind the fact that the LGB coalition was founded/heavily influenced by David Thorstad, the same guy who founded NAMBLA. It's a well known fact that the gay rights groups advocated strongly for pederasty.

This isn't fucking normal. Children dressed in clothes that would be sexualized on adult women, embedded in a culture that rewards them for mimicking the most sexualized forms of dancing is degenerate. There's no argument that makes this normal.

This isn't normal. This drag/gay stuff is one of the clearest pieces of evidence for objective, ontological, evil existing in the universe.

Letting a child stand, open mouthed, in front of a naked man in women's shoes and makeup isn't fucking normal.

I don't even know if I should censor ^ this. It's on mainstream news sites so I assume it's safe, but I still feel fucking disgusting posting it; it illustrates the point though... It's not "performative art", it's the sexualization of children and everyone involved should be gassed and thrown into an unmarked mass grave.

There's a reason I'm not on Twitter. I am on another forum website (under a different name of course) where LGBT stuff is a giant sacred cow, though, so it's a relief to have a place where people have the opposite perspective. The site doesn't even have anything to do with LGBT stuff, but a majority of the userbase are lefties, so it sort of comes with the territory.
