Use for gossip and drama concerning East Asia (the Far East)and Oceania
North Koreans are secretly leaking to the press that entire families are dying of starvation under Kim Jong Un's rule as he focuses on nuclear weapons instead of feeding the country. Civilians who are unable to leave North Korea tell of heartbreaking stories of mothers unable to work due to sickness and die of starvation. Their children follow the same fate and die of hunger.

Kim Jong Un has used the Covid - 19 epidemic to crack down on his people. Those who even approach the border to smuggle food into North Korea are executed by the state. Beggars have been reportedly dying in the streets of the capital. The current famine in North Korea is worse than the one in the 1990s where millions of people are thought to have died. During the height of the covid-19 epidemic, people were not allowed to set foot outside their homes for weeks. Many people survived only because they were able to sneak out of their homes at night in search of food.

North Korean markets remain almost empty while the price of corn and rice remain expensive to purchase. A lot of the citizens trapped inside the country are angry that Kim Jong Un is spending state money on nuclear weapons instead of food to feed his people. A significant number secretly want the US to invade their country and throw Kim Jong Un and his cronies out of power.

The country's borders remain closed which means the government cuts off vital supplies for its starving citizens.
